High alert in Punjab as radical preacher Amritpal Singh likely to surrender at Golden Temple

Khalistan support Amritpal Singh, who is running away from the police, may surrender today. For this reason, heavy police force has been deployed in Talwandi Sabo by Bathinda Police. There is talk of Amritpal surrendering near Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Chandigarh: Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, who is running away from the police, may surrender today. For this reason, heavy police force has been deployed in Talwandi Sabo by Bathinda Police. Amritpal’s Sachkhand near Sri Harmandir Sahib is discussed to surrender. Along with the news of Amritpal’s surrender, an alert has been issued in Punjab. Security has been tightened in Amritsar city.

Security has been tightened near Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib in Amritsar. The Punjab Police is constantly keeping an eye on the area.

Police has conducted a flag march in the area near the Golden Temple. DCP Parminder Singh said that there should be no obstruction on any road leading to the Golden Temple and law and order should be maintained there.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh has reached Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. AIG Jagjit Singh Walia is also present with him on the spot.

A large number of security forces are deployed along with the Punjab Police. The gate of the police station Mehtiana has been closed only because of the Amritpal Singh case. No one is allowed inside. ADGP Gurinder Singh Dhillon and SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal are present inside the police station.

Police is continuously raiding in search of Amritpal Singh. Since Tuesday night, the police had put a blockade in Hoshiarpur in search of Amritpal. Now the Hoshiarpur-Phagwara road has been opened. Two-wheelers and cars have been allowed to move. Buses, trucks and other big vehicles are not plying, they are being checked.

In search of Amritpal and his accomplice Papalpreet Singh, the police conducted a search operation in Marnaiya village, about ten kilometers from the city, till quarter to two on Tuesday night. After this the search operation was started in village Harkhowal which continued till 2.30 am.

According to sources, two youths have been detained, but the police have not confirmed this. An Innova (PB10CK-0527) car with Ludhiana number plate has been recovered from village Marnaiya. It is being told that both the youths were traveling in the same car. On being chased by the police, they fled leaving the car behind.

High alert in Ludhiana
High alert has been issued in Punjab after a suspicious Innova vehicle was found in Hoshiarpur. Due to the suspected Ludhiana number of the found Innova vehicle, the police has launched an intensive checking campaign here. This car is being told in the name of a person from Dhandari area. After which the police have done checking there also.
An intensive checking drive and blockade has been done in Ludhiana. Vehicles are being checked by the police at the entry and exit points of Ludhiana. In the city too, a special watch is being kept on every commuter on the link roads.

Police has been deployed in the premises of Takht Shri Kesgarh Sahib Anandpur Sahib. The police force has been deployed following discussions about the surrender of Amritpal Singh, head of the Punjab De Waris Sanstha. Police is keeping an eye on the area.
