Mumbai: Mumbai police on Saturday, April 23, stepped up security near Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s residence as MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana plan to recite Hanuman Chalisa there.

Last week, Ravi Rana had threatened to chant “Hanuman Chalisa” outside the CM’s home.
“Uddhav Saheb has forgotten Hindutva, the ideology on which he sought votes and got seats (for his party). He has forgotten the teachings of Balasaheb. So, we will recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree at 9 am on Saturday to remind the CM of Balasaheb’s teachings. We will go peacefully and will not cause any inconvenience to Mumbaikars,” he had told reporters.
While police personnel remained deployed outside the CM’s home on Saturday morning, Shiv Sena workers were seen protesting outside the couple’s home in Mumbai.
“We are waiting, we’ll keep Hanuman Chalisa in front of us. We’re waiting to teach them a lesson,” former Mumbai Mayor and Shiv Sena leader Kishori Pednekar told media outside the CM’s home.
.Navneet Rana alleged that Maharashtra CM ordered Shiv Sena workers to heckle them. “They are breaking the barricades. I’m reiterating that I’ll go outside andwill chant Hanuman Chalisa at ‘Matroshree’. CM only knows how to throw people in jail,” she said.
.A large number of Shiv Sena workers staged a protest outside the residence of the couple in Khar area.

.Ravi Rana, an independent MLA from Badnera in Amravati district in a social media post, alleged that he and his wife were not are not being allowed to leave their house and that Shiv Sena workers attacked their house. “Police are not allowing us to step outside our house.
.Shiv Sena workers trying to attack our residence…We’ve always considered ‘Matoshree’ as a temple…Uddhav Thackeray only seeking political gains,” he said.
.Former Mumbai Mayor and Shiv Sena leader Kishori Pednekar, who is waiting outside CM’s home for the couple to show up said: “We are waiting, we’ll keep Hanuman Chalisa in front of us. We’re waiting to teach them a lesson.”
.Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray had earlier sought that loudspeakers be removed atop mosques by May 3 and threatened to play Hanuman Chalisa outside these religious places if state government does not fulfil his demand.
