Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a meeting with district magistrates during which he underlined that all districts have their own set of challenges, and that every one of them has a crucial role to play in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Calling the officials “field commanders”, the Prime Minister said localised containment zones, aggressive testing and sharing correct and complete information with people are the only weapons to defeat the pandemic.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa also attended the virtual meeting where Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present.

.PM Modi while interacting with officials from states and districts said there are different challenges in every district of our country. “You understand the challenges of your district best. When your district wins, it is country’s victory. If your district defeats Covid-19, so does the country.”
.”Many of you worked despite being Covid positive; you gave duty foremost priority,” PM Modi said.

.”If you think any reform is needed in policy, you share feedback without any inhibition,” PM Modi told officials.
.PM Modi stressed the importance of local containment zones, aggressive testing and giving correct, complete information to people.
.”We have to pay a lot of attention to rural, remote regions in the second wave of Covid-19″ PM said.
.PM Modi said efforts to provide states 15-day advance schedule of vaccination are on; it will allow them to prepare accordingly.

Many effective measures have been taken – from ensuring that strict containment measures are undertaken to control the spread, to preparing the healthcare facilities for handling the raging second wave, to ensuring availability of healthcare workforce and a seamless supply chain for logistics, these districts in their relentless efforts to manage the situation also have success stories that could be replicated across the country, the PMO said.
