Shimla: As many as forty-five bus passengers have reportedly been stranded in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district due to heavy snowfall, a state disaster management official said on Thursday.
The Chamba District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) informed that the passengers of the private bus have been stuck near Jot, the official said.
Police teams have been dispatched to the spot to rescue the passengers, he added.

Meanwhile, a massive avalanche was also reported from Billing bridge near Keylong following fresh snowfall yesterday.
The avalanche blocked the NH-3, but there was no report of loss of life and property. The BRO had moved its machinery to clear the debris.
Lahaul valley has been receiving fresh snow since Tuesday, while Solang and upper regions of Kullu district experienced snowfall since Wednesday morning. Manali town witnessed some snowflakes, but upper regions experienced heavy snowfall.
While Manali-Keylong highway has been blocked completely, Atal tunnel and Solang valley have been closed for tourists. Tourists were being allowed till Nehru Kund where they enjoyed fresh snowfall. The administration has advised tourists not to go to the higher regions in the next few days during inclement weather.
