‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has completed its 100th day, and the newly elected Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is set to join RaGa on Friday on this occasion, along with some newly elected MLAs of the party.
Jaipur: The Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has completed its 100th day. During this period, the party has covered seven states so far; currently, the caravan is in Rajasthan. The Congress party has been planning to make the 100 days memorable. The newly elected Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is set to join RaGa on Friday on this occasion, along with some newly elected MLAs of the party.
In a tweet in Hindi, the Himachal unit of the Congress said: “Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, and several MLAs will join the Yatra with Rahul Gandhi.”
The planning of the Kanyakumari to Kashmir Yatra strategy was made to revive the image of the party and connect with the people. This step was taken due to back-to-back heavy defeats for the Congress party since 2014. Rahul Gandhi has been leading the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ along with party supporters.
Several well-known personalities are also taking part in this yatra from time to time. Former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan this week also took part in the foot march in Rajasthan. He interacted with Rahul over the national economy as well.
Stand-up comic Kunal Kamra also tweeted about his participation on Wednesday. “After spending a week with the Bharat Jodo Yatra, I think people are shying away from walking the yatra and trying to be neutral.” It’s not neutrality that’s keeping you on the fence; it’s fear. “Standing up against power is also democratic, like it used to be before 2014,” he wrote in a tweet.
Bollywood actors Pooja Bhatt, Swara Bhaskar, and Riya Sen have also marched with Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
