PM Modi said that the voters of Himachal Pradesh have made up their mind to re-elect the BJP in the state as their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand had done a few months ago.
Himachal Pradesh: The voters of Himachal Pradesh have made up their mind to re-elect the BJP in the state as their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand had done a few months ago, PM Narendra Modi said on Saturday. Setting in motion party’s campaigning ahead of the polls, the PM addressed the Yuva Vijay Sankalp Rally in Mandi through video-conferencing, and apologised for not being able to reach the venue due to inclement weather.
PM Narendra Modi said, “For decades, there were coalition governments and an atmosphere of uncertainty if they can perform or not. Due to that, people in the world were sceptical about the country. Eight years ago, in 2014, people of India chose a stable government which also brought stability in policies and work culture and laid a strong foundation for the change”.
“Earlier, the voters in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand followed the trend of changing the ruling party every five years, but they have now given up this practice. Similarly, the voters and the youth of Himachal have made up their mind to repeat the BJP government. They know the BJP can provide a stable government and can work in the direction of developing the state,” the PM said. He lauded the youth of Himachal for making India proud on various fronts, be it sports or entertainment and made the supreme sacrifice for the country from the invasion of Kashmir in 1948 till today.
“Himachal becoming a global pharma hub will further strengthen India’s identity as a world pharmacy,” Modi said. He said that Himachal is also one of the three states to set up bulk drug parks to make India self-sufficient in raw materials for medicines. Similarly, it is among the four states where medical equipment parks are being set up.
The PM Modi further said, “BJP has maximum representation of youth as it trusts the youth of Himachal as well as the country. And, it is the youth power that will fulfill the resolve of making India a developed country in “Azadi Ka Amrit Kal”.
“Premium institutes like IIT-Mandi, IIM-Sirmaur, IIIT-Una and AIIMS-Bilaspur have been opened in the state in the last eight years. What was impossible to imagine, the BJP government has made it possible.
In the state,on the projects launched by the BJP government , he said, “We have allocated Rs 14,000 crore for national highways in Himachal Pradesh and approved the proposal to add Hatti community in the list of STs in the state. We also brought ropeway facility along with developing villages near the border areas.
