The centuries-old annual Hinglaj Mata festival resumed after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Balochistan, Pakistan. Devotees from India and other countries participated in it. The ancient temple located in Kund Malir area of Lasbela district in Balochistan is considered one of the biggest pilgrimage sites of Hindu civilization. It is one of the five ancient Hindu temples around the world. Hinglaj Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Sati, is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths.
Regarding Mata Utsav, Balochistan Senator Danesh Kumar said that due to the Kovid epidemic, Hinglaj Mata Utsav could not be held here for two years. But this time a huge crowd of Hindu pilgrims were seen for the festival this year.
Expected to reach two lakh devotees
This year, hundreds of devotees from Karachi, Lasbela and other cities reached the temple of the goddess on foot. A huge crowd of devotees has been seen on the occasion of the annual Hinglaj Devi Yatra. It is expected that two lakh people can reach here in total for this journey which will last for three days.
