“Historic step to unite opposition”: Rahul, Kharge after meet with Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in Delhi. During this, many big leaders of Congress, RJD and JDU including former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav were present.

After the meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge said that it was a historic meeting to unite the opposition parties. In this, an agreement has been made to bring the opposition parties on a single platform. All together will bring like-minded parties together before the Lok Sabha elections.

In the press conference held after the meeting, Nitish Kumar said that the matter is over now. We have discussed for a long time. Efforts have to be made to unite more and more parties across the country. We will work together in future, it has been decided.

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi said that a very historic step has been taken in uniting the opposition, it is a process. We will develop the vision that the opposition has for the country. We will take all the opposition parties with us and we will stand together and fight against the attack on democracy and the country.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, JDU President Lalan Singh, RJD MP Manoj Jha, Congress leaders Salman Khurshid, Mukul Wasnik and Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh were also present in the meeting of CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav with Mallikarjun Kharge.

On the other hand, Nitish Kumar can meet many other big leaders of the opposition today. Nitish is once again preparing to unite the opposition before 2024.

In February, Nitish Kumar had asserted that if all opposition parties, including the Congress, fought the 2024 Lok Sabha elections unitedly, the BJP would be reduced to less than 100 seats.

Nitish Kumar also visited Delhi in September last year when he met leaders like Sharad Pawar, Arvind Kejriwal, D Raja, Sitaram Yechury and Akhilesh Yadav. JD(U), RJD, Congress and Left parties are part of the ruling coalition in Bihar.
