Hit-and-run incident : 19-year-old woman killed, two others seriously injured near Noida metro station

Noida: In a horrific road incident unfolded near Sector 76 Metro station in Noida, a 19-year-old woman was killed, while her younger sister and a friend sustained grievous injuries after being crushed by a speeding car on Sunday. According to authorities, the deceased, identified as Samaila Be from Badaun, was living with her family in Barola, Sector 49. Her sister, Hena Be, aged 17 and their friend Khushboo, aged 25, were injured in the accident.

A case has been registered at Sector 49 police station based on a complaint filed by a relative named Saddam.

Saddam explained that Samaila, Hena, and Khushboo were employed as house helps in Mahagun Moderne Society in Sector 78. The tragic incident occurred while they were en route to work, as an unidentified red car struck them and fled the scene.

Onlookers swiftly alerted the authorities, and the victims were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital. However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were transferred to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital. Hena sustained fractures on both hands and a severe head injury, while Khushboo underwent surgery for her injuries. Saddam expressed that the condition of both victims remained critical, with Hena being unconscious and Khushboo recalling only the sudden impact of the speeding red car.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including reckless driving causing hurt, grievous hurt and causing death by negligence. Officials are scanning nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspect and gather further clues. Police station in-charge Saini said that investigation is going on to nab the driver and find out the circumstances surrounding the incident.
