New Delhi: Delhi Police has banned flying of drones etc. in the national capital from July 22 to August 16 due to security arrangements for Independence Day. There will be a ban on flying paragliders, ‘hang-gliders’, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, flying small aircraft and para jumping from aircraft etc. in the sky. The officers provided this information. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora issued an order in this regard before the Independence Day celebrations on 15 August.
Order issued regarding security in view of Independence Day
Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora issued an order in this regard ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on 15 August. The order said that information has been received that criminals, anti-social elements or anti-India terrorists may pose a threat to the security of common people, dignitaries and important establishments by using paragliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote piloted aircrafts, hot air balloons, small powered aircraft or para-jumping from aircraft etc.
Strict action will be taken on violation
Strict action will be taken against the violators. Violation of this will attract action under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code. It has been said in the order that this order will be effective for a period of 26 days which will be applicable from Saturday till 16th August. To ensure that this system is not violated, the Delhi Police team will also monitor. The Delhi Police Commissioner has imposed this restriction in view of the fact that no criminal or terrorist incident can take place in the capital on the occasion of Independence Day.
