HP cabinet expansion: Himachal Pradesh's Dhani Ram Shandilya, Harshvardhan Chauhan, Jagat Singh Negi, Vikramaditya Singh, Chander Kumar, Anirudh Singh, and Rohit Thakur took oath as ministers.
Shimla: The cabinet of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu got expanded today. According to the latest update, State Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office to seven MLAs. First of all, the oldest MLA from Solan, Dhani Ram Shandilya took oath.
This was followed by six-time MLA Harshvardhan Chauhan from Shillai in Sirmaur, former deputy speaker of Kinnaur Jagat Singh Negi, former CM Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh from Shimla Rural, Chander Kumar from Jawali in Kangra, Anirudh Singh from Kusumpatti and MLA from Jubbal-Kotkhai. Four-time MLA Rohit Thakur has taken oath as a minister.
Let us inform that the Congress had won the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was made the Chief Minister after the election results came in favor of the Congress. Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri was made with him.
Exactly one month later, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s cabinet has also been expanded. Today Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered oath to seven MLAs. In Himachal Pradesh, it had won 40 out of the total 68 seats in the assembly. This time BJP could win only 25 seats. Aam Aadmi Party could not win even a single seat.
Meanwhile, before the cabinet expansion, CM Sukhu had on Sunday administered the oath of office of Chief Parliamentary Secretary to six MLAs. It is being told that all these MLAs were contenders for the post of ministers. Instead of making these people ministers, they have been adjusted to the post of Chief Parliamentary Secretary. The MLAs who have been made parliamentary secretaries include Ramkumar Chaudhary, Mohan Lal Brakta, Ramkumar, Ashish Butail, Kishorilal, Sanjay Awasthi. The initiative to make the first Chief Parliamentary Secretary in Himachal Pradesh started in the Virbhadra government.
