IMD alert heavy rain-storm warning in Andaman & Nicobar for next few days, rain alert for Kerala and Lakshadweep next 2-3 days

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain at some places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 15-16 November. In view of this, all units of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Navy have been put on high alert. According to IMD, Kerala will receive heavy rains on November 14.

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain at some places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 15-16 November. In view of this, all units of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Navy have been put on high alert. An alert has been issued for the next five days from Sunday. But parts of the archipelago including Port Blair, Campbell Bay, Kamorta and Diglipur are expected to wreak havoc on November 15 and 16.

It is raining heavily these days in many states of South India. Because of this, a situation of waterlogging has arisen in many areas. Due to the rains in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, people are facing a lot of problems. Schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu’s Mayiladuthurai district have been closed on November 14 due to heavy rains.

In the coming days, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains in many other states. According to IMD, Kerala will receive heavy rains on November 14. At the same time, on November 15 and 16, there is a possibility of rain in some areas. Apart from this, rain and thundershowers are very likely at most places over Lakshadweep on November 14. At the same time, it will rain in some areas from 15 to 17 November.

A statement issued by the Directorate of Disaster Management said that due to bad weather, the wind speed in the Andaman Sea was 45 km. More than likely per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in the coming days. Along with this, tourists have been asked to stay indoors. People have been advised not to venture into the sea for adventure sports at Corbyn Cove, Swaraj, Elephanta, Colinpur Beach, Shaheed Dweep and Wandoor etc. Due to bad weather, flight services from Kolkata, Delhi, Visakhapatnam and Chennai to Port Blair may be affected.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region for the next few days. The Meteorological Office has also predicted that the temperature is likely to drop by a few degrees in the north Indian states. Light to moderate rain/snowfall is very likely to occur over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh on November 14. Along with this, there is a possibility of light rain / snowfall at different places in Uttarakhand. On November 14, 2022, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places over Haryana and West Rajasthan. After the next 48 hours, the minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degree Celsius in many parts of Northwest India.
