IMD forecast issues yellow alert in Delhi-NCR as rain likely to continue today

New Delhi: These days the weather in the capital is changing every moment. The sky remained clear on Sunday morning. Later it became cloudy and then in the afternoon there was strong sunlight. Due to this, the maximum temperature increased by 2.3 degree Celsius as compared to the previous day.

After this, the weather changed again in the evening, till evening there was light rain in many areas with strong wind and thunder.There is a possibility of rain in many areas even in the night. That’s why the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be partly cloudy on Monday. Wind can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to be 38 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 23 degree Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will clear from Tuesday and the heat will increase slightly. On May 12, the maximum temperature can reach 39 degree Celsius. Kuldeep Srivastava, regional director of the Meteorological Department, said that after a few days, there may be light drizzle in some areas on May 13 due to the activation of the Western Disturbance. Because of this, there will be relief from heat wave.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.4 degrees Celsius, which is two notches below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 21.4 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal. Light rain occurred in many areas of Delhi including Palam, Najafgarh, Narela.

Najafgarh recorded maximum rainfall of 1.5 mm. Narela received 0.5 mm of rain. A day earlier on Saturday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 35.1 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 21.0 degree Celsius.

Pollution levels improved in Delhi NCR. Because of this, the air quality in most of the cities of Delhi and NCR remained in the moderate category on Sunday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality will remain in the moderate category on Monday as well.

According to CPCB, the Air Index of Delhi was recorded at 173 which is in the moderate category. A day earlier, the Air Index of Delhi was 234 in the poor category. The air index of Faridabad was recorded 136, Ghaziabad 160, Gurugram 186 and Noida’s air index 154, which is in the moderate category. On the other hand, the air index of Greater Noida was 216, which is in the poor category.
