IMD forecast predicts light rain to occur in Delhi-NCR today, relief from heat wave

New Delhi: According to the weather department, the sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday. Light rain may occur at some places. The maximum temperature is expected to be 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 21 degrees Celsius. After this, the sky will clear from Monday and the temperature will start rising. The maximum temperature may increase by three to four degrees Celsius next week.

New Delhi: According to the weather department, the sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday. Light rain may occur at some places. The maximum temperature is expected to be 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 21 degrees Celsius. After this, the sky will clear from Monday and the temperature will start rising. The maximum temperature may increase by three to four degrees Celsius next week.

The weather in the capital is changing again and again. Because of this, a day later on Saturday, once again light rain fell in many areas of Delhi. However, there was a slight rise in temperature compared to the previous day. However, the temperature remained four degrees Celsius below normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may touch 39 degrees Celsius on Friday. On Saturday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.0 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees Celsius below normal. Light rain occurred in many areas including Palam, Aya Nagar, Ridge, Lodhi Road, Mungeshpur, Pitampura, Mayur Vihar, Narela.

Mungeshpur recorded maximum rainfall of 1.5 mm, Pitampura one mm, Narela and Mayur Vihar 0.5 mm. Delhi has received 45.7 mm of rain so far this month, which is about ten and a half times more than the normal (four mm). Palam has so far received 14.6 meters of rain which is almost three times the normal (4.8 mm).

The air quality in Delhi-NCR reached the poor category after a week due to rising pollution levels. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), pollution levels will improve on Sunday. Due to this, air quality will be moderate on Sunday and Monday.

According to CPCB, Delhi’s air index was 234, Ghaziabad’s 204, Greater Noida’s 248, Gurugram’s 222 and Noida’s air index 220 which is in the poor category. Air index of Faridabad recorded 151 which is in medium range. On April 29, Delhi’s air quality index was 216 in the poor category. After this the air of Delhi was cleared to a great extent. But once again the air index has crossed 200.
