IMD forecast predicts rain with thunderstorms occur in eastern and northeastern India during March 18 to 21

New Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast predicts from March 18 to 20, widespread thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds will occur over Western Himalayan regions of Punjab, North India, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain is likely.

New Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast predicts from March 18 to 20, widespread thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds will occur over Western Himalayan regions of Punjab, North India, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain is likely.

During the next 4 days, hailstorm is likely to occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At this time, storms and hailstorms are wreaking havoc in the whole country along with unseasonal rain. Be it the plains of North India or the hills of North East or the coastal areas of South India, the havoc of this stormy weather is being felt equally everywhere at the moment.

According to IMD, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in West and Central India are likely to receive rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds during March 18-19. Hail may also fall at some places in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on March 18.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in North Interior Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka during March 18-19 in South Peninsular India. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during March 18-19. While heavy rain is expected at many places in Telangana today.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of widespread rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in East and Northeast India during March 18 to 21. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in some parts of Bihar and Odisha on March 18. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on March 19-20 and in Tripura on March 20. Many parts of the country received a lot of rain in the last 24 hours.

In many places, there were storms and hailstones also fell. Heavy rains occurred in Assam, Meghalaya, Gujarat, Ratlam and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. While thunderstorms were observed at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Saurashtra and Kutch, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
