IMD forecast predicts yellow alert of storm and rain on March 12 and 13 in Himachal Pradesh

Thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (speed of 30-40 kmph) are likely at isolated places over Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Maharashtra today.

According to the India Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions are likely to form in different areas of Konkan, Goa, Saurashtra and Kutch and coastal Karnataka. Maximum temperatures in many parts of Goa, Saurashtra, Kutch, Vidarbha and coastal Karnataka are in the range of 37-39 degrees Celsius. While Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Konkan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Rayalaseema and West Madhya Pradesh maximum temperatures are in the range of 35-37 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD, a Western Disturbance is present over North-West Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood. Due to its effect, rain is expected in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh till March 11. There is also a possibility of strong winds (wind speed 30-40 kmph) at many places in North Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand today. While a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to give scattered rain and thundershowers over the Western Himalayan regions during March 12 to 14.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heat wave at different places in Konkan, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Saurashtra and Kutch on March 10.
