IMD: Heavy rain alert issue in Odisha, AP and MP during the next 2-3 days, orange alert for UP and Uttarakhand for next 2 days

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast intense rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand till October 8. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted in both these states on October 7. IMD has also predicted heavy rains in Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh during the next two to three days.

New Delhi: There is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of India in the coming few days. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast intense rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand till October 8. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted in both these states on October 7. IMD has also predicted heavy rains in Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh during the next two to three days.

In the capital Delhi also, there is a possibility of rain and rain in the sky from 6 to 11 October. The effect of the low-pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andhra Pradesh has reduced. According to the IMD, the associated Cyclonic Circulation is now over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lower Tropospheric Levels and its adjoining areas.

The eastern states of India including West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Odisha are likely to receive heavy rainfall during the next few days. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, ‘On October 6, there may be moderate to heavy rains at isolated places in Bihar, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 08-09; During 06-07 there will be moderate to heavy rainfall over East Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and West Madhya Pradesh during 06-08 October, 2022.

There is a possibility of heavy rains in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand till 8 October. Moderate to heavy rain with thunder/glow is very likely at isolated places during the course. According to the Meteorological Department, UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and eastern India’s Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram And in Tripura, there may be moderate to strong rain with thunderstorms and strong wind.

IMD has issued a yellow alert for these 20 states. The southern states of India including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rains till October 9. IMD said, “Moderate to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning at isolated places over Tamil Nadu during October 06-09, over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on October 06, 08 and 09, and over Telangana on 06. Moderate to heavy rain may occur over Interior Karnataka on October 09, 2022.

According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is still active in many parts of the country. This time the reason for the delay in the departure of the monsoon is the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal due to Cyclone Noru. An orange alert has been issued in Uttarakhand in view of the possibility of heavy rains in October.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert on October 7-8, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in Kumaon and Garhwal divisions of Uttarakhand. In Uttar Pradesh too, there is a possibility of heavy rain in different areas for the next 2-3 days.

IMD has issued an orange alert in the state from 6 to 8 October. For the next two to three days, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Gonda, Basti, Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Mau, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Amethi, Rae Bareli, There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains in many districts of West Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Kaushambi.
