IMD: Heavy rain likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry for next 3 days

The Meteorological Department has also said that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 4 and adjoining plains from November 5. Due to this, changes in meteorological activities can be seen.

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in three states of South India. According to the Meteorological Department, the states of South India are in the grip of continuous heavy rains and heavy rains are likely in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry in the coming three to four days. The IMD has said that heavy rains are likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala during the next 3 days and people living in low-lying areas should remain alert.

The Meteorological Department has also said that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 4 and adjoining plains from November 5. Due to this, changes in meteorological activities can be seen. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on Friday, while there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala.

“Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during 03–07 November 2022,” stated IMD.

The Meteorological Center has also said that heavy rain, thundershowers, moderate rainfall are very likely to continue at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe during November 03-07, 2022.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the western disturbance, many areas of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh can be affected. Light to moderate rain may occur in Uttarakhand between November 6 and 7, while snowfall has also been predicted at some places. The IMD has also predicted isolated light and moderate rainfall in Punjab during November 05-07 and heavy snowfall in Kashmir Valley on November 06, 2022.
