New Delhi: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be less rain in North-West India in the next 5 days and a similar situation will occur in Central India from August 24. IMD has also issued Red and Orange alert for extremely heavy rainfall in West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Gujarat region on 23 August. Scattered rain is expected in Delhi South-West Uttar Pradesh an South Haryana. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh will move west-northwestwards across North-West Madhya Pradesh towards East Rajasthan and weaken to low pressure by tomorrow morning area will change.

The IMD has predicted widespread light/moderate rainfall to very heavy at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan on August 23. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain and thundershower at isolated places with widespread light to moderate rainfall in northern parts of Gujarat region and Rajasthan on 23rd. According to the IMD Bulletin, in West Rajasthan on 23rd and 24th, East Madhya Pradesh from 23rd to 26th August, West Madhya Pradesh on 23rd, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa on 23rd August, 23rd and 24th August Odisha.

Lightning is likely to occur in Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch on 23rd, Chhattisgarh on 25th and 26th August with widespread light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rainfall. Rain is forecast in Uttarakhand on August 24. The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh on August 23 and 25 in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on August 26.

According to the Meteorological Department, Coastal Karnataka on 23rd, South Interior Karnataka on 23rd and 24th, during 23 to 26 August, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal may receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
