IMD issues rain alert in many areas of South India including Kerala, Tamil Nadu for next 2-3 days, Snowfall increases cold in North India

New Delhi: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of rain today and tomorrow in many areas of South India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala. there is a possibility of heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh , Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on 21 and 22 November.

New Delhi: The cold has completely knocked in North and Central India including the country’s capital Delhi, Bihar-UP. Due to the continuous snowfall in the hilly areas including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Kashmir, the temperature of many states of North India has dropped and due to this the cold is increasing continuously. At the same time, the process of rain continues in the states of South India.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of rain today and tomorrow in many areas of South India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala. The air quality in Delhi is still in the poor category and a thick sheet of smog is being seen everyday in the morning. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be further increase in rains from today in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and many surrounding areas. Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and surrounding areas will receive light rain on November 20.

At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on 21 and 22 November. During this, the wind speed in these areas will be around 50 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has said in its alert that during the next 48 hours, a low pressure area is likely to concentrate over Southeast Bay of Bengal and Assam and a depression over the central parts of South Bay of Bengal.

On the other hand, according to the Meteorological Department, snowfall may continue in many areas of Himachal Pradesh. Due to snowfall in the hilly areas, the temperature of the plains will also fall and the winter will increase. In many states of North India including UP-Bihar, the temperature may drop by two to three degrees Celsius.

According to the weather information website Skymet Weather, a slight drop in the minimum temperature can be seen in northwest, central and eastern India today, on November 19 there may be light rain and snowfall in Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and snowfall may occur in Himachal Pradesh on 19 November. Light to moderate rain is possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There is a possibility of light rain in Kerala.

The air quality in Delhi was recorded in the ‘poor’ category on Tuesday. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded two degrees below normal at 15.4 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted a partly cloudy day today i.e. on Saturday. On Monday, the air quality in Delhi was recorded in the ‘poor’ category with improvement, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

The city’s 24-hour average AQI was 303 on Saturday and Sunday, while it was 346 on Friday and 295 on Thursday. An AQI between 100 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and 500 ‘very poor’. An AQI in the middle is considered ‘severe’.
