New Delhi: IMD forecast predicts, today light rain is possible in parts of Coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh . There are chances of light rains in Western Himalayas, Sikkim, Northeast India, Tamil Nadu and South Karnataka. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells very likely over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rain and dust storm likely over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea will further increase the humidity in the region. These weather systems will increase rain and thundershower activities in many parts of Rajasthan till June 4 (Weather Update Today). Due to this, the intensity of rain will be more in Rajasthan on June 4 and 5. Except the southern districts of the state, there will be rain in many parts of the state. After this, the intensity of rain will reduce considerably.
According to the weather agency Skymet, it will rain in western Madhya Pradesh on June 4 and 5. Although this intensity will be less than that of Rajasthan. Southwest and East Madhya Pradesh will remain almost dry. After this, the temperature will start rising in both the states from June 6 and there will be no return of heatwave for at least the next 2 to 3 days.
At present, due to the pre-monsoon season, a period of thunderstorms is going on in the country. Hailstorm is also being seen in many places. Like other states, the first week of June seems to be rainy in many parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. One more western disturbance coming from the Himalayas will affect both these states. On the other hand, cyclonic winds coming from Pakistan will also have an effect.
Talking about the last 24 hours, rain and thundershowers occurred in parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala (Weather Update Today). Rain was observed at one or two places over Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu and Odisha. Scattered light to moderate rains occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Haryana, northern districts of Rajasthan and Lakshadweep. Dust storm occurred in some parts of Rajasthan.
