IMD Weather Update: Heavy rain expected in many states due to cyclonic storm on Diwali

IMD Weather Update: Heavy rain has been predicted in the coming days in many areas of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain has been predicted in many states due to the cyclone that has risen in the Bay of Bengal till tomorrow. New Delhi: After the departure of monsoon, the festival season came and now the country is ready to celebrate Diwali. But due to the further strengthening of the cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of heavy rains in many states. This cyclone is likely to intensify till tomorrow. In fact, an area of ​​low pressure has become concentrated in a depression in the southeast adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this cyclonic storm is likely to intensify further over the east-central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal.

Cyclone likely to hit on Diwali
According to the India Meteorological Department, this cyclonic storm is likely to intensify further over the east-central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. Thereafter, this low pressure area may gradually move north-northeastwards and intensify into a full-fledged cyclonic storm over central Bay of Bengal by Monday morning. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the next few days in many states of the country.

Meanwhile, conditions are favorable for withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from entire country during next 24 to 48 hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast that till October 25, there may be heavy rains in many states of the country including Odisha and West Bengal. Some scattered and widespread rain is forecast. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of very heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal on October 24 and 25. At the same time, in the coming days, there may be heavy rains in the island areas i.e. Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain alert in these states
At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rains in many areas of the northeastern states of the country till October 26. On the 24th and 25th, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning with widespread moderate rain in Arunachal Pradesh. On the other hand, if we talk about Assam and Meghalaya, then there may be rain during 24-26 October and Tripura and Mizoram from 23 to 26 October.
