The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in most parts of the country for the next two days. Yellow alert sounded in Odisha, many states will receive thunderstorm clouds. In Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, the rains are continuing for the last few days.
New Delhi: The second phase of monsoon is active in most parts of the country and states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha have been receiving heavy rains for the last few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain in many states for the next 2 days. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain for two days from tonight in most of the states of East Central India.
However, the possibility of a decrease in rain has also been expressed in Gujarat and Rajasthan from today. In the southern states, except Tamil Nadu, the possibility of similar rain has been expressed in almost all the states for the next 3 to 4 days.
Heavy rains have been forecast in Saurashtra and Kutch on August 18 and Konkan and Goa on August 20 and 21. At the same time, there is a possibility of light rain around 19 August under the influence of a low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal. At the same time, till August 21, along with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, there may be rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand.
In Chhattisgarh, till August 21, warnings and alerts of heavy rain have been issued at different places. Similarly, on August 21, there may be heavy rain in Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha till 22 August. Similarly, if we talk about the national capital Delhi, there is a possibility of some rain in the weekend.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. In some of these places, there is a possibility of lightning with thunderstorms.
Multiple alerts in Odisha
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ in 20 districts of Odisha, warning of heavy rains on Thursday. Along with this, ‘Orange Alert’ has also been issued in 17 districts amid warnings of very heavy rains on Friday. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center said in a bulletin on Wednesday that due to a cyclonic circulation, a low pressure area is expected to form in the North Bay of Bengal by Friday, which is currently south of Myanmar.
According to meteorologists, 20 districts including Cuttack, Puri and Khurda may receive heavy rains on Thursday. The Meteorological Center on Friday issued an ‘orange alert’ forecasting very heavy rainfall of 116-204 mm in 17 districts including Cuttack, Kendrapara and Sambalpur. The Meteorological Office has issued a red alert on Saturday, forecasting very heavy rainfall in seven districts of Kalahandi and western Odisha.
