Immigrant tribals kill forest officer in Telangana over not allowing cutting of trees 

A forest range officer (FRO) in Telangana’s Khammam district was attacked and killed by immigrant tribals in the Bendalapadu village of Chandrugonda Mandal, when he tried to stop them from cutting the plantation.

Hyderabad: A forest range officer (FRO) in Telangana’s Khammam district Srinivas Rao was attacked and killed by immigrant tribals in the Bendalapadu village of Chandrugonda Mandal, when he tried to stop them from cutting the plantation. During this period, he was attacked with sharp knives by immigrant tribals. He got a severe injury and rushed to the hospital, where he breathed his last while being treated at Khammam Hospital.

The incident took place on November 22. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed grief and declared ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the deceased’s family.

CM KCR was deeply shocked and ordered the Director General of Police, Mahender Reddy, to take all necessary action so that the assailants can get capital punishment. He also urged providing a government job to one of the family members under the Karunya scheme. CM KCR further added that attacks on government employees who are on duty will not be tolerated at any cost.
