Efforts were made to arrest former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan who had failed to appear in the court on corruption charges before the court’s order came. A contingent of Punjab Rangers was also included along with policemen outside Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park area of ​​Lahore.

Lahore’s Zaman Park area has turned into a battlefield-like scene after clashes broke out between Imran Khan’s supporters and the police while preventing them from arresting their leader. Tear gas shells, burnt tires and vehicle debris are seen scattered on the roads. Dozens of policemen have been injured in this clash.

Imran Khan remained under house arrest on Wednesday at his residence located in this high profile area, while the government sent Rangers to help the policemen. The police team that came to arrest Imran Khan had a clash with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.

There was a clash between PTI workers and police in Zaman Park area of ​​Lahore on Tuesday. After the issuance of non-bailable warrant in the Toshakhana case, the Islamabad police arrived with armored vehicles to arrest PTI chief Khan from his home in Lahore.

Imran Khan has been accused of buying gifts received from Toshakhana at low prices and selling them for profit during his tenure as Prime Minister.
