New Delhi: The custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia is coming to an end. If sources are to be believed, CBI will not ask for remand today. In such a situation, the court can send Manish Sisodia to jail in judicial custody. Then on March 10, there will be a hearing on his bail. It is also possible that ED will come to the court today to seek remand of Manish Sisodia in the money laundering case.

– After his arrest, Sisodia was sent to CBI custody for five days. He was produced in the court on Saturday (March 4). When Judge MK Nagpal sent him to CBI custody for two more days. Although the CBI had sought his custody from the court for three days.
– The court said that AAP has applied for Sisodia’s bail and its request will now be considered on Friday (March 10). Sources said that the CBI cannot seek further custody of Sisodia now. The CBI can recommend only 14 days of judicial custody for him.
– 51-year-old Manish Sisodia has said in his bail application that he was being asked the same question repeatedly and he was getting mental harassment due to this. At the same time, the CBI says that Sisodia is not cooperating in the investigation.
– Sisodia’s counsel said that keeping him in custody would not serve any purpose as all the seizures have been made in the case. He also said that the “inability of the agency” to complete the investigation cannot be made a ground for remand.
– The Rouse Avenue Court has told the CBI not to ask Sisodia the same question again and again. If CBI has any new question then ask them.
– The CBI, on its part, said that Sisodia was uncooperative and evasive during interrogation. He also cited the time wasted in his medical examination and the hearing of his bail plea in the Supreme Court.
– The AAP leader had also approached the Supreme Court for relief after his arrest. The Supreme Court, however, refused to intervene and asked him to approach the High Court.
– Sisodia has been accused of corruption in the liquor policy, which was canceled after the recommendation of a CBI inquiry by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.
– The Arvind Kejriwal government was accused of flouting rules and providing undue benefits to liquor shop licensees.
– Rejecting the allegations, the Delhi government has said that the BJP is misusing the investigative agencies for political purposes. Kejriwal has said that the now-cancelled liquor policy is the “most transparent policy in the country”.
