Hayward Field/US: It is very proud moment when any one reaches so far from India. India’s javelin champion Neeraj Chopra, the Tokyo Olympic medalist in the World Athletics Championship 2022, has secured a place in the final of the javelin throw tournament with a distance of 88.39 meters in the very first attempt. It took only 10 seconds for India’s star athlete to qualify for the finals.
Chopra competed in the qualification round Group A of the men’s javelin throw on Friday. The rules required a javelin throw of 83.50 meters to reach Sunday’s final and the 12 best-performing players would get a chance to go ahead.

The final stage of the men’s javelin throw competition will be held on Sunday, July 24 at 7.05 am Indian time. Let us tell you that this will be Neeraj Chopra’s first Senior World Championship final. Grenada’s defending champion Anderson Peters and another Indian Rohit Yadav will compete in Group B.

Chopra, who has a personal best of 89.94m, competed at the 2017 London World Championships with hopes of at least making the final, but missed the qualification mark of 83m with a throw of only 82.26m. Had gone. Apart from this, he also missed the 2019 World Championships in Doha as he was recovering from elbow surgery.
