In Lahore event, Javed Akhtar hits out at Pakistan over 26/11 Mumbai attacks | Watch

New Delhi: Renowned poet and film screenwriter Javed Akhtar accused Pakistan of allowing the perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai to roam freely while sitting in Pakistan, whose video has gone viral on social media. Javed Akhtar recently went to Pakistan to attend the Faiz Festival, which was organized by the Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore, and concluded on Sunday itself.

In the video that has gone viral, the renowned lyricist can be seen talking about reducing the tension between the two countries, and telling the gathering that “there is resentment in the hearts of Indians…”

Javed Akhtar said, “We should not blame each other… nothing will be achieved… fizaan garam hai (the atmosphere is tense), it should be rectified… we are Mumbaikars, and we have The city has been attacked… The attackers didn’t come from Norway or Egypt… And the same people are still roaming in your country… So, if this complaint is in the heart of an Indian, don’t feel bad Needed…”

He also said that Indian artists were not given the same respect in Pakistan as Pakistani veterans were given in India.

These comments of Javed Akhtar are being shared fiercely, and users are also praising him. Some users on social media have termed it as a ‘surgical strike’ on Pakistan.

Actress Kangana Ranaut is also among those who praised Javed Akhtar for these comments made in Pakistan.
