Mumbai: The symbol issue has turned out to be a contentious topic between the two factions of the Shiv Sena. “40 traitors are attempting to steal our name,” said Aditya Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena, in a statement made amid a dispute between two opposing Sena groups over the party’s name and election emblem.

Aaditya Thackeray stated in an exclusive interview with a prestigious magazine, “Forty traitors are trying to take away our name.” We have full trust in the judicial system. If gaddari is legitimised in this manner, then such kinds of issues will arise in every state in the nation.”

He was making reference to the Election Commission’s request that both sides select new names and symbols for the upcoming by-election campaigns in Mumbai.

“We continue to state our claims on the Shiv Sena and the bow and arrow (election symbol). That will continue because what occurred was a betrayal, which is illegitimate by all means. Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray of the Shiv Sena brings everything together. “Even the EC has ruled that you cannot separate Shiv Sena from Uddhav and Balasaheb Thackeray,” he added.

Over the last two and a half years, people have witnessed Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s work as Maharashtra’s chief minister. Aaditya Thackeray went on to say that everyone thought of him as a family man.

Uddhav’s faction will now be known as the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and its new symbol will be the mashaal (flaming torch); on the other hand, Eknath Shinde’s faction will now be called the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena (Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena).

“There are several Balasahebs floating all over the country. So Shiv Sena can be run by anyone. So it is up to them,” Aaditya said, referring to Eknath Shinde’s group being given the name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena.
