Prime Minister Modi initiated ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on October 3, 2014, and it is now a monthly tradition, airing on the last Sunday of each month at 11 am. The program is broadcast on All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan.
Despite the numerous digital communication channels available, the Prime Minister opted for radio because All India Radio (AIR) is one of the world’s largest broadcasting networks. AIR offers coverage to 99.20% of the population, spanning 92.0% of the country’s territory.
A substantial audience of approximately 23 crore people regularly tunes in to ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ with an additional 41 crore individuals listening to it occasionally. The report indicates that the majority of listeners, around 73%, hold an optimistic outlook and believe that the country is on a path to progress.
