Inauguration of Ashram flyover extension cancelled, AAP government’s decision after Sisodia’s arrest

The inauguration of the proposed Ashram flyover on Tuesday has been postponed in view of the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was to inaugurate this flyover on Tuesday. After repairing, the flyover was to be opened for traffic on 28 February. However, after Manish Sisodia, the number two of the Aam Aadmi Party government and the most influential leader after Kejriwal, was sent on CBI remand, the Delhi government has decided to cancel the event. AAP’s demonstrations are taking place across the country against the arrest of Sisodia.

An official of the Public Works Department has said that the flyover should have been thrown open to the public on Tuesday. Its date was received from the Chief Minister’s office, but in view of the recent developments, now a new date will have to be demanded from his office. He also informed that the work of the flyover has been completed.

Ashram flyover is the biggest infrastructure project of Delhi government. Due to the construction of its extension, this flyover is closed for the last one and a half months. Because of which lakhs of motorists are facing problems every day. After the opening of this flyover, the drivers coming to and from Delhi-Noida and Ghaziabad will get great relief.

CBI arrested Manish Sisodia on Sunday after 8 hours of questioning. The investigating agency had said that Sisodia was not giving correct answers to the questions. That’s why his remand is necessary. At the same time, Sisodia says that he did not give the desired answer, so the CBI wants to take him on remand.
