The violence of Russian troops over civilians has been continuing in Ukraine. During the inhuman activities of its army, Ukrainian women are on the receiving end and are being raped by the Russian troops constantly. This has been going on for a while, and helpless girls and women are being subjected to atrocities.
Ukrainian women on receiving end
Reports of rapes are coming from Ukraine. A Ukrainian woman claimed that Russian soldiers raped her moments after her husband was shot dead. Her four-year-old son was scared, crying in the next room. Officials have decided to probe her allegations.
She told The Times that she heard a single shot, the sounds of the gate opening and then the sound of footsteps in the house.
She said on March 9, Russian soldiers had first killed her pet dog, and then returned to kill her husband. “I cried out, ‘Where is my husband?’ Then I looked outside and I saw him on the ground by the gate. She said that this younger guy pulled a gun on her head and said, “I shot your husband because he’s a Nazi.”
Rape at gunpoint
At gunpoint, Russian soldiers raped a woman and threatened to kill her if she did not ‘shut up‘, she said. She told the media that her husband said ‘you’d better shut up or I’ll get your child and show him his mother’s brains spread around the house.”
“He told me to take my clothes off. Then they both raped me, one after the other. They didn’t care that my son was in the boiler room crying. They told me to go shut him up and come back. All the time, they held the gun by my head and taunted me–“shall we kill her or keep her alive?” She recalled.
The woman has now fled the house, leaving the body of her husband behind. “We cannot bury him, we can’t get to the village, because the village is still occupied,” she said.
Girls cut hair to avoid rape
Seeing this hostility against girls, young girls in the Ukrainian town of Ivankiv, near the capital Kyiv, have decided to cut their hair short so that they can’t look attractive to the Russian soldiers and avoid getting raped, as per the deputy mayor, Maryna Beschastna.
During the period of occupation, women were pulled out of basements by their hair so Russian soldiers could abuse them, deputy mayor Maryna Beschastna said. “Girls started cutting their hair short to look less attractive, so no one looks at them anymore,” she said.
In another incident, two sisters, aged 15 and 16 years of age, were raped in a nearby village.
Not to talk of Ivankiv, girls from other cities in Ukraine have been facing the same fate-harassment and rape by Russian troops.
Ukrainian Member of Parliament Lesia Vasylenk has claimed that Russian soldiers raped girls as young as 10 years old and branded them as women’s bodies.
The question that arises is how long girls will face this kind of violence. In theory, it is easy to talk about the equality of the sexes, but in practical life, girls always remain on the receiving end and face all kinds of brutality in any way.
First, learn how to respect the girls. Fair sex is not made to satisfy male desires. The culprit soldiers should get capital punishment; otherwise, their morale will be boosted.
