The 9th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was played between India and West Indies at Newlands in Cape Town. India has defeated West Indies by 6 wickets in their second match. This is India’s second consecutive win in the World Cup.
Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma entered her name into the history books during this match,The star all-rounder is the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in t20 format of the game.
Chasing the target of 119 runs, Smriti Mandhana and Shefali started with a bang. Both added 32 runs in 3.3 overs. Shefali scored 28 runs in 23 balls, while Smriti Mandhana scored 10 runs. After the dismissal of Shefali Verma and Smriti, a good game was expected from the star player of the previous match, Jemima Rodrigues (1 run), but she could not do anything special, due to which India’s score was reduced to 43 runs for three wickets.After this, Richa Ghosh and Harmanpreet Kaur added 72 runs to ensure India’s victory. Wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten after scoring 44 runs off 32 balls. During this, Richa hit five fours. At the same time, Harmanpreet Kaur played an inning of 33 runs in 42 balls. India won the match by scoring 119 runs for four wickets with 11 balls remaining
