Tokyo Olympics update: India defeat Spain in a Men’s Hockey match

Tokyo: Simranjit Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh together scored three goals in India’s win against Spain in Pool A clash in men’s hockey. Indian men’s hockey team put up a brilliant performance to beat Spain 3-0 in men’s hockey.

The Indian men’s hockey team lost its previous match against Australia, which was also India’s worst defeat in Olympic history. Meanwhile, early in the morning, Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary crashed out of the 10m air pistol mixed team event on the fourth day of Tokyo Olympics 2021 after finishing seventh in the second leg of the qualification round. While the other Indian pair of Yashaswini Deswal and Abhishek Verma finished 17th in the first leg of the 10m air pistol mixed team event.

A full range of action is underway on the fifth day of the Tokyo Olympics with athletes including tennis star Andy Murray, table tennis legend Ma Long, football teams from Brazil, Sweden and the USA. Murray plays his men’s doubles second round match where he teams up with Joe Salisbury to take on the German pair of Kevin Kravitz and Tim Puetz.
