India gears up against England in second T-20I at Edgbaston

Edgbaston: Virat Kohli has been under immense pressure after his prolonged failure in all formats of the game. He needs to score runs to remain in the team, otherwise the selectors won’t show any more mercy.

Several young batters like Deepak Hooda and others have impressed the selectors with their positive approach. They are incessantly performing well, which has put pressure on seniors to lift their game, otherwise their place would be in jeopardy.

India is set to clash with England in the second T20I at Edgbaston today. In the first match at Southampton, the visitors outplayed the hosts in all departments of the game.

Kohli, along with several players who were rested in the first match, is likely to join the team at Edgbaston. The former Indian captain needs to score heavily. His bat hasn’t blasted for a long time. Enough is enough. If he fails here, he may be dropped from the T20 squad.

The presence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma has lifted the morale of the side after the debacle of the Edgbaston Test. India started the T20 campaign in style and overpowered England by 50 runs at Southampton.

Hardik Pandya’s all round performance (51 runs off 33 balls and 4/33) separated the two sides.

Both the sides will face each other today at Edgbaston, where England convincingly defeated India by seven wickets and drew the series 2-2. 

Jos Butter led England has to play better cricket in today’s must-win match. The hosts were lacklustre in all departments of the game in the opening match. 

England’s skipper  has to marshal his troops in the proper order to create a challenge for the men in blue.

Jadega is sure to take the place of Axar Patel. His presence will strengthen the batting line-up as well.
