Indian Navy helicopter ditched off Mumbai coast due to technical snag, crew rescued

MUMBAI: An advanced light helicopter of the Indian Navy met with an accident near the Mumbai coast during a routine flight on Wednesday. A naval patrol vessel immediately launched a search and rescue operation and ensured the safe recovery of 3 crew members. The Indian Navy has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

MUMBAI: An advanced light helicopter of the Indian Navy met with an accident near the Mumbai coast during a routine flight on Wednesday. A naval patrol vessel immediately launched a search and rescue operation and ensured the safe recovery of 3 crew members. The Indian Navy has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

“Indian Navy ALH on a routine sortie off Mumbai ditched close to the coast. Immediate Search and Rescue ensured safe recovery of crew of 3 by naval patrol craft. An inquiry to investigate the incident has been ordered.”

According to the Indian Navy, the Indian Navy’s Advanced Light Helicopter had taken a regular flight from Mumbai. During this time it met with an accident near the coast. Due to which it had to make an emergency landing on water. Currently, three crew members have been safely rescued by a naval patrol vessel due to search and rescue operations. An inquiry into the incident has been ordered.
