Indian Railways Launches Vande Bharat Express Special Train on Designated Route,Know Details

Indian Railways has launched another Vande Bharat Express Special train, adding to the existing fleet. The new service will operate from Dr MGR Chennai Central Station in Tamil Nadu to Karnataka’s Mysuru Junction. The Vande Bharat Express, a semi-high-speed train introduced in 2019 and recognized for its blue and white livery, has gained popularity among commuters. This new addition brings the total number of Vande Bharat Special trains to five, addressing the heightened demand for passenger services during the festive season.

Route Details:

The Vande Bharat Special train will traverse the route between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Mysuru Junction, designated as train number 06037 for the former and 06038 for the latter. The Southern Railway (SR) zone will oversee the maintenance of this train.

Distance and Travel Time:

Covering a distance of 500 km, the Vande Bharat Express special train on the Dr MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru-Dr MGR Chennai Central route is set to complete the journey in 6 hours and 30 minutes. This makes it the fastest train on this route, surpassing both Mysore Express and Kaveri Express, which cover the same distance at 09:15 and 09:25, respectively.

Stoppage and Frequency:

The Vande Bharat Express will make stops at two stations during its journey between Chennai Central and Mysuru Junction, specifically Katpadi and KSR Bengaluru railway stations. Operating as a weekly special train, it will run exclusively on Wednesdays and is scheduled to remain in service until December 27, 2023. As part of the Railways’ initiative to expand the Vande Bharat Express train network nationwide, there are plans to introduce a Sleeper Vande Bharat Express train in the near future.
