India’s 4th medal in Weightlifting at CWG 2022, Bindyarani Devi bags silver in women’s 55kg

New Delhi: India creates history at CWG bags four medal in weightlifting. The second day of the Commonwealth Games was very successful for India. Weightlifters are performing very well in the Commonwealth Games. Bindyarani devi won the country the fourth medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. He won the silver medal in the 55 kg weight category. The special thing is that now all the four medals won by India have come in weightlifting only.

Bindiyarani won the silver medal
Indian weightlifter Bindyarani Devi won the fourth medal for the country. He lifted a weight of 86 kg in the snatch and 116 kg in the clean and jerk round in the 55 kg weight category. He won the silver medal by lifting a total weight of 202 kg. Nigeria’s Adijat Olarinoy won the gold medal. Olarinoy won the gold medal by lifting a total of 203 kg, creating a Games record. England got the bronze medal.

Gold missed by a difference of 1 kg
Bindiyarani showed a wonderful game. When she lifted 86 kg in snatch, she was at number three, but in clean and jerk, she improved her game and won the silver medal. Had she lifted a kilo more, Bidinyarani would have won the gold. Bindiyarani won the gold medal in the last year’s World Championships with a stormy performance.

India won four medals
India has so far won four gold medals in the Commonwealth Games. In these, Mirabai Chanu has won the gold medal, Gururaj Pujari has won the bronze medal, Sanket Mahadev has won the silver medal and Bindiyarani has won the silver medal. India has done very well in weightlifting.

Mirabai Chanu won gold
Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Mirabai Chanu did not disappoint the country even in the Commonwealth Games. He won gold in the 49 kg weight category. Mirabai Chanu captured the gold medal in a completely one-sided fashion. Mirabai lifted 88 kg in snatch. At the same time, he lifted a total of 113 kg in clean and jerk. In this way his total score was 201. Not only this, Mirabai has won this gold medal with a Commonwealth record.
