Vadodara: Solo marriage of Gujarat’s Kshama Bindu hit the social media. Some of them have come out in support of her as well. In fact, it is India’s first ‘sologamy’ as a Gujarat woman married herself alone. All the wedding rituals, such as ‘mehendi‘ and ‘haldi‘ and so on, took place as usual.
She solemnised her marriage before the scheduled date to avoid the backlash of a BJP leader, as she said a couple of days ago that Kashma’s marriage rituals couldn’t take place in a temple, as it is against the Hindu rituals.
After the completion of her wedding, Kashma Bindu thanked everyone in a video message and said she was thankful for the support and back-up. “I couldn’t thank everyone who has messaged me and applauded my deeds and gave me courage to fight for and helped me to achieve my goal,” she said on Facebook.
Since her announcement to go for the’sologamy’, political leaders and others have started sharing their outlooks regarding such a kind of marriage.
A BJP leader, Sunita Shukla, reacted sharply to her decision. She said she was against this kind of marriage because it has no place in Hinduism and Kshama wasn’t permitted to marry in a temple. Congress leader Milind Deora, on the other hand, called her marriage another example of ‘wokeness’, terming it lunacy.
Kshama Bindu, who lives in Vadodara, had set her marriage date on June 11 but performed it before her due date to avoid political counter attack. She has done her graduation in Sociology and, at the moment, she is working as a Senior Recruitment Officer in a private company. Her parents are engineers by profession.
