Indonesia: 6.3 Magnitude strong earthquake hits Indonesia’s Tobelo; No tsunami alert

The epicenter of the earthquake was 177 km north of Tobelo. Its depth was at 97.1 km. At present, there is no information about any damage. Earlier on late Thursday, earthquake tremors were also felt in Amreli, Gujarat. Earthquake tremors were felt here at 11.35 am.

Indonesia: 6.3 Magnitude strong earthquake hits Indonesia’s Tobelo; No tsunami alert

Jakarta: Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Tobelo, Indonesia on the intervening night of Thursday-Friday. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was 6.3. According to the information, the epicenter of the earthquake was 177 km north of Tobelo. Its depth was at 97.1 km. At present, there is no information about any damage.

Earlier on late Thursday, earthquake tremors were also felt in Amreli, Gujarat. Earthquake tremors were felt here at 11.35 am. Whose intensity was measured at 3.4 on the Richter scale. This is the third earthquake in the area in a single day. Due to which people were seen in fear.

Big earthquake warning in India too

Dr. N. Purna Chandra Rao, chief scientist of the Seismology Department of the National Geophysical Research Institute in Hyderabad, has warned that in the present situation in the Uttarakhand region of India and part of western Nepal, an earthquake like Turkey can occur at any time. There was an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude in Turkey, due to which more than 45000 people have died.

According to Dr. Rao, especially the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, which is adjacent to western Nepal, it comes in the category of Seismic Zone 4 and there has never been a major earthquake, but due to the changes happening inside the ground, such an earthquake is sure to happen. Its date or time limit cannot be told.
