Mark Boucher named as the head coach of Mumbai Indians franchise. South African cricket coach Mark Boucher is appointed as head coach of Mumbai Indians before the start of the IPL 2023 season. Mahela Jayawardene has resigned.
New Delhi: Mumbai Indians, the most successful team of IPL, proved to be laggy in IPL 2022 and started work on them after recognizing their shortcomings. In this episode, he has given the responsibility of head coach to South Africa’s head coach and former veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mark Boucher. Boucher will replace former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene here.

Apart from Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the Mumbai franchise has two teams in foreign leagues as well. These teams are MI Emirates and MI Cape Town. The Emirates team is a team in the International League T20 and Cape Town South Africa T20 League. The Mumbai franchise has appointed former head coach Mahela Jayawardene as the global head of performance. Jayawardene will now be the global coach of all the three teams including the Mumbai franchise. He will work closely with the head coaches of the team to maintain coordination among the three teams.
Before the start of the new season of this league, Mumbai has started tightening its gear. Mark Boucher has vast experience as a wicketkeeper, batsman and coach. In the year 2019, Cricket South Africa (CSA) made him the head coach of the wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, who was the most victim in Test cricket. Here he won 11 Tests, 12 ODIs and 23 T20 Internationals.
Mark Boucher will step down as the head coach of South Africa after the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. He has already accepted his new responsibility. His expertise in the field of cricket is evident and he has led his team to many victories as a coach. Mark will play an important role in carrying forward the tradition of Mumbai Indians.
