Netanyahu was fully conscious on the way to the hospital and walked himself inside the hospital upon arrival. Tel Hashomer is close to coastal Caesarea, where Netanyahu has a private residence. Israeli media said he was at home when he reported feeling unwell. The Prime Minister was brought in a convoy from his home where he was spending the weekend.
Netanyahu, 73, is Israel’s longest serving leader. He has served multiple terms in this office for 15 years. This is his sixth term. In Israeli politics, no leader has been able to remain at the pinnacle of power for such a long time. Netanyahu is said to be in generally good health. However, in October last year, he was briefly hospitalized after feeling unwell during a prayer.
