New Delhi: Two terrorists have been killed in encounter with security forces in the Pulwama district’s Awantipora area of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said earlier on today. One of the two terrorists shot dead was involved in two civilian killings – a woman and a government employee – the police has said.
According to the information tweeted by the Kashmir Zone Police, the terrorists who were killed have been identified as Shahid Rather from Tral and Umar Yousuf from Shopian region.
“Besides other terror crimes, terrorist Shahid (Rather) was involved in the killing of a woman Mst Shakeela from Aripal and a government employee (peon) Javid Ahmed from Lurgam Tral,” the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone said.

The development comes a day after two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. In the search operation that followed, the police said it recovered “incriminating materials including two AK-47 rifles” from the terrorists.
