Jammu-Kashmir: Security forces conducted a cordon and search operation in place Kutpora of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said on Wednesday that during this the terrorists escaped by throwing grenades at the security forces. He said the security forces had launched a cordon and search operation on Tuesday night after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Kutpora area of Shopian.
According to the police, the terrorists also retaliated on the soldiers engaged in the search operation. However, the terrorists escaped due to darkness, a police spokesman said. There was no injury to any of the army personnel.
A police spokesman said that a hideout in a house was also busted and weapons and ammunition were recovered. According to the police, the terrorists have accelerated the attacks. The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “On specific input Security Forces launched a CASO in Kutpora, #Shopian. During search, #terrorists lobbed grenades on the search party. Search party also retaliated. However terrorists escaped due to darkness. Police & SFs busted a #hideout inside a house & recovered Arms/Amns.”
Security forces said that the name of Adil Wani had surfaced in the attack on Kashmiri Pandit Doubhais working in an apple orchard in Shopian, South Kashmir yesterday. Sunil Kumar was killed in this attack, while his brother Pintu is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
On August 15, The terrorists had carried out two grenade attacks at different places. Two including a policeman were injured in this attack. The first attack took place in Gopalpora Chadoora area of Budgam, in which a civilian Karan Kumar Singh was injured. Pandit Colony in Gopalpora was attacked by the cadres of Falcon Squad TRF. The terrorists did another attack on the police control room. A police personnel was injured in this grenade attack.
On August 14, According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a police personnel named Tahir Khan, a resident of Mendhar, Poonch, was injured in this terrorist incident. He was taken to GMC Hospital Anantnag for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
On August 13, Terrorists hurled a grenade at the security forces in Ali Kadal, Srinagar, in which two people were injured. Srinagar Police had tweeted that a grenade was thrown by terrorists towards the security forces at Ali Jan Road Idgah. Due to this, a CRPF jawan got minor injuries.
