New Delhi: On Wednesday morning, Two terrorists linked with Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, said the Kashmir zone police. One of the terrorists was allegedly involved in the killing of a bank manager in the Kulgam district recently.
“One of the killed #terrorists has been identified as Jan Mohd Lone of #Shopian. Besides other #terror crimes, he was involved in the recent killing of Vijay Kumar, Bank manager on 2/6/22 in #Kulgam district,” the officer tweeted.

According to the Kashmir Zone Police, The encounter broke out between the militants and security forces at Kanjiular in Shopian after the personnel launched a cordon and search operation in the area. Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces had been jointly conducting the operation.
In a tweet earlier today, the Kashmir Zone Police had said: “ShopianEncounterUpdate: 02 terrorists linked with proscribed #terror outfit LeT killed. Identification being ascertained. Further details shall follow.”

Earlier on Tuesday, an encounter broke out in the Bemina area of Srinagar in which two terrorists were killed. The terrorists were linked to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). A police officer was also injured in the encounter.
