Jammu and Kashmir: A major infiltration bid across the LoC in Tangdhar foiled, the Army killed a terrorist

New Delhi: Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police foiled an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LOC) in Tangdhar sector on March 24 and killed a terrorist. Army has also recovered more than 200AK rifle rounds, three magazines, two Chinese type grenades and medicines, food items etc. from the terrorist.

According to information received, security forces detected suspicious activity around Tangdhar sector, after which police and security forces launched a search operation.

During this, the terrorist opened fire, after which an intruder was killed in the encounter. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh said, Despite the reduction in infiltration attempts, attempts to carry out terrorist activities in India from across the border are still continuing.

At the same time, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a drone of Pakistan. In fact, five Austrian-made Glock pistols and 91 bullets dropped in Punjab near the international border were recovered by the BSF on Friday. Arms and ammunition were dropped in the Metla area of Gurdaspur sector at around 2.30 am.

A BSF spokesperson said that the BSF personnel fired upon the intruding drone and later recovered a packet from the field during a search of the area. Officials told that there were five Glock pistols, 10 magazines and 91 bullets in the packet.

Various security agencies suspect that the consignment was meant for Khalistani separatist groups in the border state. Glock is a semi-automatic pistol used by anti-terrorist forces like the National Security Guard (NSG) and other commando teams. It is made in Austria and America.
