Jammu and Kashmir: Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma Shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama

According to the information, a senior police official said, a bank security guard named Sanjay Sharma died after he was fired upon by terrorists on Sunday. He was critically wounded after the attack and was admitted to a hospital in Pulwama but succumbed to his injuries.

Pulwama: According to the information, a senior police official said, a Kashmiri Pandit working as a security guard at a bank was shot dead by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Pulwama Sunday morning. He was critically wounded after the attack and was admitted to a hospital in Pulwama but succumbed to his injuries.

“Terrorists fired upon one civilian from minority namely Sanjay Sharma S/O Kashinath Sharma R/O Achan Pulwama while on way to local market. He was shifted to the hospital however, he succumbed to injuries. There was Armed guard in his village. Area cordoned off. Details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police Tweeted.

The dead man belonged to a minority group and has been identified as Sanjay Sharma, son of Kashinath Sharma who had worked as a security guard for the past 40 years.

Terrorist organization TRF has claimed responsibility for this attack. Kashmir Zone Police informed that the terrorists have fired on a minority named Sanjay Sharma. He hails from Achan in Pulwama district.

Sanjay was going to the local market when this incident was carried out. Sanjay Sharma has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. An armed guard was also posted in his village. Now the area has been cordoned off and the search for the terrorists is on.

Earlier, the government had told Parliament that 118 civilians, including 5 Kashmiri Pandits and 16 other Hindus and Sikhs, had been killed by July 2022 after the abrogation of Article 370. At the same time, in response to the question of when the assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir, Singh said that it would not be right for him to say anything on this subject. It is under the purview of Election Commission.
