Jammu and Kashmir : NIA arrests JeM operative in Kashmir for terror conspiracy case

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has got great success in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA has arrested a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed here. This member of Jaish-e-Mohammed is a resident of Kupwara district. He has been arrested for his involvement in the terror conspiracy case.

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has got great success in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA has arrested a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed here. This member of Jaish-e-Mohammed is a resident of Kupwara district. He has been arrested for his involvement in the terror conspiracy case.

The NIA said in its statement, NIA arrested a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed, who has been identified as Mohd Ubaid Malik of Kupwara district. He has been arrested for his involvement in the terror conspiracy case in Jammu and Kashmir.

The NIA said, “Mohammad Ubaid Malik, a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed, was in constant touch with a Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed commander. Investigation revealed that the accused was passing secret information to the Pakistan-based commander, especially about the movement of troops and security forces.

The NIA also recovered several incriminating documents from the possession of the accused related to his involvement and promotion of terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. This includes collection and distribution of huge consignments of narcotics, cash, weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), including remote controlled sticky bombs/magnetic bombs.

According to the NIA investigation, IEDs and explosives are often being sent through drones to carry out terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and are also being assembled locally. Minorities and security forces personnel are mainly targeted in the attacks.
