Srinagar: Once again target killing in Jammu. Terrorists opened fire at civilians late Sunday evening in Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir and Jadibal area of Srinagar in which 4 people died. Along with this, 10 people have been injured. As soon as the information was received, the security personnel have admitted the injured to the hospital for treatment.
Simultaneously, the entire area has been cordoned off and search has been started for the terrorists. According to the information, the terrorists have done this firing in Dhangari area of Rajouri. In protest against the incident, the local people have called a bandh on Monday.
Police said that the incident of firing took place near Higher Secondary School, Dangri at around 7:15 pm. In which 7 people of a Hindu family including a woman and a child were injured. Later, 4 people including Satish succumbed, while others are undergoing treatment at GMC Rajouri. The incident is of Upper Dangri village. Firing was done in three different houses at a distance of about 50 meters.
Dr. Mehmood, Medical Superintendent of Rajouri Hospital, told that the injured are being treated. Police and district administration have reached the spot. Several bullet marks have been found on the bodies of the injured.
The victims have been identified as Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar and Pritam Lal and Shiv Pal. This is the second incident of civilian killing in Rajouri district in the last two weeks after two people were killed outside an army camp on December 16. Sources reported that the headman of Dangri village criticized the authorities, terming the attack as a major security lapse. He said there was apprehension of danger and searches were conducted in some areas of the district.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the district due to the attack. In protest against the incident, many organizations have called for a strike today and demanded immediate action. The BJP has supported the bandh call. A group of people gathered outside Rajouri hospital raised slogans against Pakistan and terrorists for killing innocent people. Slogans were also raised against Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Territory Administration and security agencies.
