A major infiltration attempt has been foiled in a joint operation by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police under Operation Bahadur in the Poonch sector, the Army said. Two infiltrators have been gunned down in Poonch sector during the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. The search operation is on.

Security forces have exposed the terrorist plot in Handwara area of ​​Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Army and police team recovered two IEDs from the forest area of ​​Vodhpura near NH 701 in a joint operation.

An official said that on the basis of information received from reliable sources, the army and Handwara police launched a search operation in Vodhpura forest in the early hours today. During the operation, two sophisticated IEDs of five and seven kg were recovered from the forest.

The team immediately cordoned off the area with adequate security measures, he said. After this, the bomb disposal squad carried out a controlled explosion of the IED. Security forces launched a search operation in the surrounding area. A major incident has been averted in the area due to the prompt action of the joint team of security forces.
